Welcome to Reality, 2013 A storytelling project initiated by Katrine Meisfjord and Malin Lennström-Örtwall in cooperation with local storytellers Welcome to Reality- a Storytelling Project about Seeking Asylum, is shown at the opening of the group exhibition Entry Denied at Visningsrommet USF Thursday 4. April 2013 at 7pm. The project Welcome to Reality presents personal stories based on people’s experiences with Norwegian and European refugee policies. Through this project we are investigating the effects these policies have on local communities and on people lives’. The storytellers are bureaucrats, asylum seekers, people who are employed to deal with asylum seekers and volunteers working with asylum seekers and the policies surrounding them. The storytellers present their own stories in the gallery space at the exhibition opening. Welcome to Reality is a dialogue and participant based art project where people from different backgrounds gather to share their knowledge and experience in multicultural communities.
