Stray is a Norwegian artist and has been based in New York since 1990. She has been the recipient of many Awards and Scholarships, including a New York Times Scholarship and The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Artist in Residence Program where she was granted permission to paint New York City from the 85th floor of the Twin Towers. After extensive travels in South East Asia, Stray attended The University of Bergen, The Nordic School of Art in Finland and The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. Torild Stray currently resides and works in Bergen where she holds an active studio/atelier. The exhibition is cocurated by Bjørn Inge Follevaag.
